Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and that typically puts us fitness enthusiasts in a tough spot. We want to enjoy all of the amazingness that the Holiday offers, but we don't want to lose track of our goals. We don't want to go way off the rails.

So what do we do? How do we find equilibrium between enjoying ourselves and staying on track?

Unfortunately, there's no simple answer. Everyone is going to be different. But something we can all do is weigh our values. What is more important to you, your goals, or enjoying yourself with your family? Further more, does enjoying yourself with your family mean you need to pig out and drink up? For some people, that's a yes. For others, no.

You need to figure out what is most important to you, and then act accordingly.

If you have a big family like I do, chances are that you'll encounter all sorts of delicious temptations. If you have a smaller family, or will be celebrating with a smaller group than normal, maybe you wont have as many options tempting you.

Whatever the case is, go back to the values you've outlined for yourself. And then be confident in those choices.

For myself, a huge part of the holidays is enjoying all of the amazing food and drink. I come from a culture where food is very important, and I like to honor my relatives who spent hours preparing and cooking - it's important for me to do that, so I prefer to try everything they made. So I don't feel bad that I may gain a few pounds over the next few days.

If you weren't raised with the same values around food, then maybe its not as important to you to try everything. That's fine! Just understand what is important for you, and then be ok with it.

Regardless of what happens tomorrow and this weekend, we'll all start Monday fresh. We'll all have the same opportunity to get back to work and back on track to accomplish our goals. So understand that and don't beat yourself up this weekend.

Enjoy yourself if its important to you to do that. If it isn't important to you, than don't. And if its important to you NOT to pig out, then don't. You have all the power :)

Happy Thanksgiving!
